Winter Wonderland
Iced in and "working" at home today (blogging, making jewelry and billing...my favorite!). Ice is still forming a glaze all around us, expected to get worse later today, but so far we still have power and are thankful that we don't have to drive anywhere. The trees are very heavy with the extra burden they've been asked to carry. Branches and in some cases, entire trees, are crashing to the ground as we speak. We have plenty of food, water and blankets should we become stranded and powerless. In the meantime, we are enjoying the beauty of ice.

As with much in life, it's the prettiest things that can cause the most grief.
Or so I've heard. ;-)
I hope you guys escape any serious damage or power outages, and that working from home just becomes a grown-up (or not so grown-up) equivalent of a snow day at school!
Eric, there are so many ways one could take that. ;-) But it is true. So far, so good with the power, and if we can escape without a tree on top of our house, I'll be pleased. From the looks of it (I'll try to post "after" shots tomorrow), there isn't much left of the trees still standing. Poor things.
Gorgeous.
I, too, hope you remain safely cocooned in your home with power and heat and all that good stuff while still enjoying the nicety of not having to trudge out into the muck to go to work.
Just want you to know that we've been keeping you in our prayers! Stay warm and safe...
Thanks Jen and Beth! We're still warm and cozy, although I did have to go to work today when the precipitation stopped. The yard is a disaster area but all things considered, we came out okay.
That is very pretty but probably not that fun when you have to go out in it!
Gosh, "horizontal icicles" is an amazing photo. Stay warm!
