Project 52 - #9

What Formation?

Oops, looks like I missed a week. #8 will be forever missed. Oh, well. I've really got nothing. This shot of what looks like a complicated constellation, or some sky writing scribbles is actually Canadian geese struggling to get in formation. I suspect the confusion stems from the fact that they don't know whether to head North or South for what remains of Winter. One day it's 65 degrees and sunny, the next it is cold, gray and snowing. At any rate, there's a lot of 'em.

That's all I got.

We're driving down the road, so it was kind of hard to see the picture...but that's neat!

Don't work too hard...it's almost over (well, this portion, anyway.)!

I love photos that stretch the brain in trying to work out the subject, but that, once explained, cause "oh, of course" to happen. This is great.

I agree - this is a wonderful photo and the explanation is hillarious. :) Poor geese.

Of course, I'm trying to figure out the same thing, so...I feel their pain.

Gwynne, I think there's something wrong with me. Not because I immediately thought the image was of some constellation, as you predicted we might, but because the first thought that popped into my mind was, "You can't be Sirius."

The next was, "Hmm... I didn't know there was a fire ant constellation."

Janie, you're blogging while driving?!?! Oh, Lord, have mercy! ;-)

Eric, your enthusiasm is appreciated. And now I see why (see Foo's comment). I did not see the resemblance until now but it does look like a Fire Ant! ;-)

Thank you, Mr. Sgazetti, that is a compliment of the highest order coming from you of great photography genius. I need to send others over to see your latest passport photo engagement. ;-)

Beth, your confusion was probably compounded by the fact that you did fly South for a spell. ;-)

Foo, that's a great observation about the fire ant and the Sirius comment would be a much better caption...too funny! ;-)

????

All I see is a squirrel standing on its nose on the edge of a cliff.
