Project 52 - #11
On The Job
Catching up on Project 52. This is from last weekend, a photo of Smokey supervising my beloved husband on the job. Smokey is responsible for monitoring quality and safety practices of the business. This particular job site is a piano bar in downtown Kansas City, currently undergoing a face lift. The link shows more shots of this historic site. It's nice to see downtown KC finally coming alive again.

What a cool image. The ladder & paint can say Smokey's there to help. The water bowl says the watcher is being looked after, as well.
Shall I go on about how the lines of the ladder and the archway and the base of the wall draw your eye right to Smokey's beautiful face? And how the low branch of the tree keeps your eye from wandering too far to the left, and brings you back to the top of the arch, which brings you back to the dog?
This is a *very* nice shot, Gwynne.
I agree - that is a very, very cool shot.
And Smokey looks well up to the job of managing QC. :)
Brian, thank you. :-) I only wish I could say that was all deliberate and I knew what I was doing, but the truth is, all I saw was a cute dog photo and evidence of some work in progress. ;-)
Beth, Smokey is the best, and he's non-union which is good. ;-)
Very nice, Gwynne. It must be so fun to be a part of the refurbishing of the downtown area. And you must just have a good instinctive eye, if you didn't compose the photo with the elements brian mentioned in mind. Same thing with your lonely car in the parking structure shot a while back.
Thanks for sharing.
my teeth hurt real bad
Thanks, Foo. :-)
Hi Beanie! ;-)
Now this is what's called ideal working conditions.
A sunny day.
One's best friend approvingly observing one's efforts.
A piano bar right smack in your face, available for the recuperative rest one always needs when at the task.
Waht a great-looking dog. How about a close-up and personal?
ideal working conditions
You ain't kiddin'. ;-)
Here's a close up of Old Smokey (click to enlarge) in the daffodils. He thanks you for the compliments. :-)
