Scary Times!
I dreamt last night that I arrived at our bank to make a withdrawal only to discover all of our cash was gone, swept away by the government, to help pay for the Economic Stimulus package. The teller nonchalantly said, "Oh, didn't you watch the news? Yesterday was the last day to withdraw your funds before the government swept everyone's accounts." I woke up in a cold sweat.Suddenly, the boat seems like a good investment. ;-)

Yeah, we're all looking across the border at West Virginia to see what stupid, useless thing Senator Byrd tacked onto the package. They've got a huge little league field in the middle of nowhere that no one goes to since there's not enough kids in the area to have a league and a huge, beautiful four-lane highway that is abandoned by everyone except me because it does get us to my brother's house, to name a few of the pork projects. So, on behalf of my brother's family: Thanks for your support. (My brother particularly thanks you for the plasma TV in his office and that the department bought him a Corvette as his work car.)
The TN GOP is producing bumper stickers that say "Honk if you're paying my mortgage" as a fund raiser. I'm so incredibly tempted. And the O in Honk is in the symbol of his almighty-ness the president.
Maybe we should seriously consider buying a boat...it does seem like a good investment plan these days. :)
I'm not thinking boat.. I was thinking motorcoach, but then again those cant take me to Ireland.
Sisiggy, there was hardly enough cash in there to pay for the Corvette AND the plasma TV, let alone the highway and little league field. Which is why the government had to take everybody's cash. But we'll get it back someday. Yes? No?!? Seriously, the dream was all too real.
Beth, Lynellen, I think as long as you're not invested in cash, gold, securities, oil, or anything remotely similar, you should be fine. And then, once you get out about 3 miles from shore, you're in International waters and they can't touch you (the motor coach might prove a bit unwieldy, but maybe with water wings it will do just fine). ;-)
That does sound scary!
A boat sounds like a great idea. Freedom on the water! :)
Girl.
You're scaring me!
Glad to see you posting, though, even if it is in the style of Stephen King.
Give Spartacus a hug for me! (How's his mom?)
I've had a couple socialism-fueled nightmares of my own, lately. I wonder what's causing them?
Janie, "how's the mom?" is a whole long, long post in and of itself and one that I've not had any energy to write. She is alive, but not well. We kicked her out of the house. We can no longer protect her, but we can protect him, so that is what we're doing. And we're trying hard to remain positive.
Foo, I wonder...
