Banana C-rappuccino

I finally tried one of Starbuck's new banana flavored drinks and in the words of Eric and Beth...

Ick!

It's nice to have product testers on the blogroll.

I see I'm not missing anything by drinking coffee flavored coffee.

I'll take your word for it.

You know I'm with you. However, Tim has tried it and declared it good. Which just goes to prove that his inability to smell has adversely affected his tastebuds.

Heh. I'm usually all over banana flavored stuff, but not this. It was nasty and tasted of chemicals. Blech!

I'll second the motion for microwaves at Starbucks. Their cinnamon scones would be much improved (as it is, we go to Panera for this very reason, in the mornings).

Hm. My Starbucks will heat it for you if you ask...but they also serve hot breakfasts (egg sammiches etc) so maybe that's the reason?

Forced to choose goodies from Starbucks or Panera though I'd probably go Panera. I like *$ coffee, but treats are always better at Panera!

My *$ serves breakfast sandwiches, too. Maybe not all stores do that yet - hence, no microwaves yet, too.

Banana + coffee = no thank you!

Panera bagels are fantastic - Asiago cheese is my favorite. Yum!

Mmm...asiago cheese bagel (or even better - the whole loaf!) from Panera. Ok, I'm officially hungry.

And you can't beat their soup-in-a-bread-bowl for lunch. Yum!

Eric - Panera is a bakery/cafe place. Used to be St Louis Bread Co. or Atlanta Bread Co. (and maybe some other Break Co.s as well) but now has standardized under Panera.

Unlike Starbucks, apparently there's not yet a Panera on every corner, but there should be! They do mediocre fru-fru coffee drinks, but excellent bakery stuff, and soups and salads too.

As for bagels, we have an even better NY style bagel place though that makes chewier, more authentic bagels than Panera. I do love the asiago bread at Panera though. Delicious!

I don't like banana-flavored anything.

Panera makes good bread, but I'm with Gwynne...I like my bagels more authentic. Panera's are too...fru fru or like a mini loaf of bread, but they're still edible. They have great sandwiches.

Ok, now I'm hungry.

Eric,

As Beth explained, Panera is a restaurant that serves excellent baked stuff and sandwiches and soup. But even cooler than their food offerings, IMHO, is the free wifi. There are plenty of Paneras in Dallas, a scant 330 miles from you as the google flies.

And I hear that Sbux is offering warm food in various cities around the country.

Yes, free wifi and plenty of electrical outlets! Panera good!
