Could I Get An Amen?

How to know if you're listening to the wrong radio station?

When they've just played ABBA's Dancing Queen for the 2nd day in a row, on your drive in to work.

Please, Lord, no more ABBA in the mornings. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Amen. Their playlist is stuck in the 70s. At least it's a no-repeat "workday" - they should try a no-repeat "workweek." :-)

You heard it too?! Okay, so tell me, what did they follow it up with? I'll wait...

Um. Do the remakes of ABBA (as done by Erasure) count? Cause if they do, I'll have to disagree - they're part of my current wake up playlist. Mmm...techno-ABBA. :)

Oh, Beth. Techno-ABBA? Say it isn't so!!

A little ABBA never killed anyone. Though I can definitely see not making a habit of it.

Brian, you're right. When I heard it come on again this morning and slammed on the brakes, nobody got killed. ;-)

Oh yeah. Erasure did "Abba-esque" as an homage to Abba (you have to pronounce that right, get your French pretensions out). Catchy and techno. They even put a little bit of rap (with a Jamaican slant) into "Take a Chance on Me." Good stuff. :)

Abba ROCKS!

Sorry, Jim, I'm going to have to move you to the bottom of the blogroll. I warned you this kind of thing might happen. Rules are rules. ;-)

Abba FOREVER!

At the risk of having my self dumped to the bottom with Jim, I have to say a little ABBA isn't a bad thing. But twice in the morning, uh...NO.

Wow.
Look out, Jim. She's serious.

I hope Gwynne doesn't have access to any "permanent records" or our behavior here will surely be recorded there too.

Jennifer, I have spared your husband and I will spare you.;-) I agree...a little ABBA never hurt anybody, but it is specifically Dancing Queen, in the morning, twice in a row that I found so distasteful. And where I fault the radio station is in its canned programming. I don't likes that. :-\

On the other hand, Jim and Beth got what they deserved. ;-)

And Brian, if I had access to any permanent records, all of our lives would be different (for better or worse, I'm not sure). ;-)

No, I didn't hear the songs - I just know that canned play lists are the pits. haha, lgp

Man. Fight for the rights of gay men to do remakes of music (which you're not even 100% sure you were alive when it was originally released - if you were alive, you weren't listening to the radio) with Jamaican rap and you see where it gets you? Where's the ACLU when you need 'em? Seriously, this is a cause I would think they would champion.

*sniff*

Oh...and...two can play at this game. ;)

Beth, I'm sure you're right. Bring on the ACLU! ;-)

Sheesh, so much for remaining apolitical around here. ;-\

Sorry - I must've missed the apolitical memo. I'll try to behave myself. :)

I believe the memo also indicated no discussions of pop culture around here. I've already violated both clauses of my own memo. :-\ I'm willing to overlook certain things.

Phew!

Though, if you change your mind about the whole "bottom of the blogroll thing", I'm the first in line - you can take a (second) chance on me.

:)

Wait! Was that an ABBA lyric that just came out of your mouth?! If you don't mind, I think I'll leave you down there for awhile. ;-)

Mamma Mia!

I dream of Abba.

Still can't get the humming out of my head...so I made up my mind, it must come to an end...the quarantine period is almost over. ;-)

And...Eric wins!!! How did you know that was the follow up song yesterday (Rhiannon)?! I am very impressed!

And I must confess to being a fan of sorts. Does that send me to the bottom of your blogroll? 8-}

Whew! That's a relief. I would never penalize anyone for their musical taste. No. Uh-huh. Never. ;-)

Yes, Eric, Stevie is a musician. Singer. Songwriter. Oh, never mind. Men. Sheesh. ;-)
