What is Your Blogging Personality?

This is a test in itself (just to see if I can even post it to my blog).

Your Blogging Type is Pensive and Philosophical

You blog like no one else is reading...

You tend to use your blog to explore ideas - often in long winded prose.

Easy going and flexible, you tend to befriend other bloggers easily.

But if they disagree with you once too much, you'll pull them from your blogroll!

What's Your Blogging Personality?

You've been warned. ;-)

My blogging type is Artistic and Passionate:

You see your blog as the ultimate personal expression - and work hard to make it great.
One moment you may be working on a new dramatic design for your blog...
And the next, you're passionately writing about your pet causes.
Your blog is very important - and you're careful about who you share it with.

Ah but we are reading, Gwynne. Heh heh.

Well, nothing says "pensive and philisophical" like posting a big stupid meme in front of an "important" post, does it? Sheesh. Lesson learned. The first of many, I'm sure.

And Eric, there is probably some cause to be concerned about the "long winded" part (but not so much the part about "prose"). ;-) As for philosophic, I do consider philosophy to be an art form but as with most art forms, I'm a much better spectator than participant. You won't get much "elenchus" out of me. But no promises. ;-)

Jim, that's the scary part. ;-)

Rachel, I can see that in your blog. :-)

I think I need some smiley emoticons in this joint. 8-)

Eric, "this stupid stinkin blog" would have been a good blog name. ;-) How did you know about my need to control? I am a bit of a control freak (are all accountants this way)? But I'm looking forward to seeing where this stupid stinkin blog goes. ;-) Right now, I'm just hoping that once the newness wears off, I'll actually have some readers to fret over (er, over which to fret). ;-)

Ditto Eric. I was encouraged by you and Jen when I started writing - at least you told me that I 'really wrote good' (if grammatically bad :-) lol; and I heard the same advice - that you'll never lack for readers if you're a good read. And so I am. Because you are. lgp

Hey Gwynne,

The post with the largest number of comments to date on my stupid stinkin' blog is the "What City Are You" meme from the other day, the one that inspired all the Pottsopolis lunacy. So yeah, Eric's right. You don't get to pick which posts draw response.

Like this personality meme post we're commenting on now. Soon you'll be in double digit comments. I think it took a few months before that happened to me. Not that I count the comments or anything. I don't count links either. I'm not a control freak. I'M NOT!!!!

Gesheundheit.

Or something.

Heh. Pottsopolis lunacy...very funny! :-)

Yeah, I've been reading long enough to notice that the posts with the most comments are not necessarily the best posts (the Thinklings' Gatorade post being the best proof of that ;-).

Thanks for the encouragement and words of wisdom. Right now, I have no plans to count comments or links (or posts for that matter). That would take the fun out of it for me. I do enjoy the interaction with all you folks, so that is my goal, to simply have a quiet place to retreat when I need a place to escape the stresses of work. And to share ideas. And laughs.

Lyndon, not to distract you from the other work you are doing, but I encourage you to bring back Thought Renewal, and maybe a less intense version of Bloggin Outloud. ;-)

I love that Gatorade post. I think it was (is) inspired. Seriously. There's a certain brilliance to it.

Marc Heinrich's purgatorio is the same way. Most people would put up those album covers and offer comments on them (that's what I would do). Instead, Marc posts them without saying anything at all and the comments section does the rest.

I should probably do a post on the selflessness required for true creativity.

Or you could.

I agree...Purgatorio is a brilliant site. I had never seen it before reading your site. For those who haven't visited, Purgatorio is a good visit. To my knowledge, there are no other strictly pictoral Christian sites out there. And the comments are hilarious. And time consuming (he sure racks 'em up!). Thanks for pointing the way.

I'll let you tackle that post, btw. ;-)

I happen to know that you read Plato like most people read cereal boxes

Eric, if you're reading cereal boxes with a dictionary in one hand and a highlighter in the other, you're reading far too much into the cereal boxes. ;-)

According to this quiz, my style is "witty and clever." I'm not so sure. I think you're more that than I am. :-)

Hi Jami! No, the quiz is correct. You are witty and clever, and smart and well-read, and friendly, and happy...and those are good qualities in a blogger, I think. Welcome!

And you don't know how I struggled trying to get your "code" into my blogroll. For some reason, the xanga locale must require something special. But then, I'm only now being forced to learn a little html, so please help me if you can. ;-)
